Education:
formal and informal education is incorporated within all (FSFU) program. FSFU utilizes every opportunity to educate sicklers and vulnerable people in schools, tertiary and all FSFU Centre’s and searches for most innovative, culturally-compelling methods to communicate the essential truths and imperatives for development. Sicklers’ is a group of people that are most expensive to take care of this deprives parents and care taker of resources and money and this is why FSFU come in to stand with this group of needy to help them in their education for sustainability. FSFU provide scholastic materials, fees and tuition support educational advice to sicklers and vulnerable people.

Health and medicine:
Friends of sicklers’ Foundation Uganda carryout outreaches counseling (community genotype screening) Through medical camps we provide medicine and support to sicklers’ and vulnerable people in partnership with Bint medical Centre and other facilities to reduce the inheritance of sickle cell disorder. Massive awareness campaigns and knowing their genotype has helped to reduce incompatibility issues of sickle cell disease hence breaking sickle cell cycle. To those who cannot afford medical bills we provide small health insurance in contribution with Bint medical Centre
Food security suggests that persons, families and communities can easily access the necessary nutritional sources of energy that furnish physical and psychological well-being. FSFU identifies sicklers’ and vulnerable people that experience nutritional risk. We provide them with chicken that produce eggs, we encourage growing of avocado, mango, oranges, greens, cassava, sweet potatoes and other foods. Training in energy saving stoves by protecting environment and saving money in food preparation, we train families in animal husbandry towards income generating activities. A nutrition program reduces poverty, lead to better health and have created more sustainable wellbeing with in the community.
Advocacy and awareness creation.
Providing information on sickle cell disease, poverty and social stigma. People with sickle cell and the vulnerable experience hardships and these include; increased depression, anxiety, social withdraw, aggression, poor social relationship and poor school performance for those in school.
Through our counselors we give psychosocial support on mental, emotional, social and spiritual needs to these people and their families to build internal and external resources to cope with diversity. This promotes a sense of safety, calmness, self and community efficacy, social connectedness, inclusion and hope.

Economic empowerment:
Under this we have the micro credit scheme, we believe in making the lives of families of people living with sickle cell disease and the vulnerable by participating in community driven initiatives through partnership based on mutual respect and trust. Encourage and promote commercial farming in communities by sensitizing them on modern farming.
We promote the spirit of saving by encouraging sicklers and vulnerable people to form clubs, association and also support them financially. This has been possible through Friends of Sicklers saving and micro credit where members make monthly savings and have acquired small loans which have changed their economic status.
